12 weeks.

well my little cruz is twelve weeks old! He is getting chubbier and chubbier. His hair seems to be thinning out some too and getting a little lighter. We may end up with a blonde at some point. His eyes have started turning blue and he loves to smile. He got to sit in his bumbo this week for a minute and he held his head up perfectly. He also got to go on his first road trip to las vegas. He met his uncle phillip, aunt vanessa, and cousins: abby, chase, and madison. He was so good the whole time, it was a big relief.

His uncle jeff always comments on his bobble head and it's so true. He loves to bob his head back and forth. He still doesn't have complete control of his neck muscles and he tries very hard to keep that head up, lol. its really cute.

Cruz knows how to be demanding but for the most part, he's my little sweetheart. He loves to smile, be held, and he also loves to hang out with his brother.

11 weeks.

Cruz is 11 weeks and time is flying by. I think I say that every week but he truly is getting big and I am already missing him. It is very fitting that he is eleven weeks because he is also 11 pounds. crazy huh!? he's almost doubled his weight. He's 11 lbs. 2 ounces as of his doctors appointment this last week. He is very healthy. It was really hard watching him get his shots. I always hate that part but we made it through okay. One thing about Cruz that everyone should know is that he is very good at being loud and demanding but he's also amazing at being sweet and smiley. He knows how to yell (and I mean yell) but he also mastered the sweetest smile that will melt your heart.

 

9 weeks

Cruz is nine weeks. He is definitely growing. He is also sleeping better which is making me (the mom) a little more alive in the afternoons. He will be getting blessed this coming Sunday. We are so excited to see our family and have them there on this exciting day. I made him a little bow tie for his big event so fingers crossed that everything goes okay.

Crus is still very cuddly and attached to being held. The afternoons are the hardest because juggling both logen and cruz who both want attention all the time is difficult. Thankfully, I have a baby bjorn carrier thing which means I at least have a hand available to attempt multi tasking, in fact I am holding cruz while writing this post so I clearly have a talent, lol. Logen tried to help put cruz's diaper on today except he went and got one of his diapers which is a little too big, lol. It was really sweet to see him get something for cruz though.

 

8 weeks.

Cruz is 8 weeks old. It always goes by fast, I think I say that every week but I am having a hard time keeping up with how fast he is growing. I want to capture every minute of it so I never forget.

I can never decide who Cruz looks like. I think he looks quite a bit like a bennett (my side) but I also see little bits of jared too! so I guess we'll see overtime. We are in the middle of planning his blessing party and making sure we are all ready for that. My sister, emily came and stayed for the weekend and cuddled with Cruz a lot for a few days while we put some bushes in our backyard. It was fun having her stay.

I feel so blessed having little Cruz here and safe. He is such a sweet and smiley boy. He definitely knows how to whine and demand things but overall, he's a really good baby and brings our family so much joy!

Also on a side note, Cruz is definitely all boy! he toots and burps so loud! lol, I can't help but laugh however I live with a house of boys now and ussually find it less than adorable.

 

 

7 weeks.

Cruz is 7 weeks. He is so smiley as you can tell from the picture. I just love him so much. He's gotten a little better at sleeping at night too!, which has helped me and those dark circles under my eyes. He has now outgrown all of his premie clothes, and the newborn ones are looking a little small too. His face has filled out and he has got some chubby cheeks.

He still has been suffering some from a blocked tear duct. It's finally getting better now that he is getting eye drops but that has not been fun.

He also has been cooing a lot lately! he loves to talk with us and let us know how he feels. I love that too.

 

6 weeks.

My little Cruz is 6 weeks. He has become a very smiley and adorable baby. I love having him smile that gummy grin. He's so much more awake, alert, and aware at this point and it's fun to see him growing. He is also getting bigger. He's got some chub now, especially in his face. Jared and I have started calling him "bubba" the last few days off and on. It's mainly because bubba watson won the masters tournament and we decided it's the perfect nickname so he officially has a nickname.
We have two boys that are incredibly different. Cruz is very different from how Logen was but their is one thing that is the same-- THEY BOTH HAVE CRAZY HAIR. Both of my babies hair likes to stick up all over the place. Cruz got out of the bath and his hair was all over the place. lol. so cute.
Cruz got to meet his grandma and grandpa jenkins for the first time this week. You could tell he loved being cuddled and spoiled by them.

week 5

Cruz is 5 weeks. I can't imagine our life without him now that he is here. He is such a funny little guy. He makes the funniest little expressions. He also is very demanding. He has the loudest newborn/baby cry I have ever heard. It's more like a yell than a cry and it's very dramatic. lol. He knows what he wants and when he wants it. He has such big round eyes. I just love the shape of his eyes, he's pretty alert now which is fun. He still loves to be held and "demands" it as much as possible. Just like Logen, Cruz has become a pacifier addict. His dark hair has been getting a little lighter. I haven't noticed it falling out though yet.

4 weeks.

Haha, this picture is so funny and misleading. He looks a LOT chubbier than he actually is. I guess the camera does add a few lbs. He has gained some weight though, he's probably around seven in a half or so lbs.
Here we are at week 4. Cruz has started smiling! he had smiled a few dream smiles before this week but in the last few days, he has looked at us and smiled many times and seems to be a very happy boy.

While he is still happy, unfortunately we had to take him to the doctor because his eye was a little swolen and had some discharge. Turns out he has a blocked tear duct and it's possibly infected so that hasn't been so fun the last few days but he's a trooper, and hasn't seemed too phased by it.

I love seeing him grow and interact more each day.

Week 3.

This picture is so funny to me of Cruz. His hair is sticking straight up and his tongue is sticking out. Probably not the most charming picture, but definitely the funniest and still adorable.

Also, I added the other picture on the bottom because the challenge this week with taking his photo was getting him to stay sitting up long enough.

Cruz is 3 weeks. I can't believe it. He has become a super good eater which is also why he's growing and growing. I don't know how big he is but I can tell he's gotten bigger. He is also lifting his head and rolling a little, yes I said rolling! He is a strong little guy like his brother.

He loves to cuddle and be held. We have a hard time at night still because he doesn't sleep that well. He enjoys being held all night and refuses to sleep in his bassinet for most of the night. Soon, he will be in his nursery and sleeping through the night though and then I will miss having him with me so I won't complain too much, just no comments about the dark circles around my eyes! lol.

I love his fuzzy hair and his eyes. Jared gave him a bath this week and didn't brush his hair after, when his hair dried, It was sticking straight up like we had rubbed a balloon on his head. lol. It's pretty cute. He has started to follow me with his eyes a lot and I love having him alert and awake.

Week 2

Cruz is two weeks old. It already is going by fast. I am trying to enjoy each moment. It's hard sometimes when I get no sleep, lol, but I love my little guy so much already and know that I will miss these newborn days very soon.

Cruz went for his two week appointment and weighs 6 lbs. 9 ounces which is great. He gained some weight! He is the 5.07th percentile. He is also in the 15th percentile for height however his wiggly little self makes it hard to get an accurate length. His measurements have been all over the place and we are quite sure he's not shrinking. lol. All we know is he is around 20 inches long. His head circumfrance is 34.3 cm which is in the 7.26th percentile.

Our little guy is such a cuddler. He loves to be held, swaddled, and cuddled up next to mom and dad. He has been more alert this week and we've enjoyed seeing his eyes and funny expressions. He is also very strong like his brother. He already likes to roll to his side a little and lift his head some. Jared and I have decided he looks like a little old man with his wrinkled forehead and crazy hair do.
Logen doesn't care to hold him yet but he does enjoy touching his nose and eyes. He is very excited about having a new member of the family. He enjoys pushing all of the buttons on Cruz's swing and making it go a little too fast (even if mom tells him not to). Dad loves to hold him and have quality cruz time. They are already very close.

week 1.

Cruz is 1 week old. I managed to take all 52 week pictures with Logen and am determined to keep up that  tradition with Cruz.

As of his last appointment on Friday, he weights 6 lbs. 1 ounce which is the in the 5th percentile. He is in the 20th percentile for height at 20 inches. His head circumference is 33.5 cm (7th percentile).

He is a little guy but is doing awesome. He loves to swing, suck on his pacifier, and be held by mom and dad. We're hoping he starts sleeping a little more at night (lol) but I'm sure he will get there. In the meantime, he gets lots of rest in the day and then wants to be held all night so mom and dad are a bit tired. Logen finds Cruz very curious. He is trying to figure out what to do with him but for the most part, he is a very proud big brother.

One new thing we were not prepared for because Logen didn't do this nearly as much but Cruz loves to explode and pee all over us all the time. As soon as his diaper comes off he is ready. lol, we're hoping that is a phase that will stop very soon.
